The Lodge
The Main house of the lodge was built in 1905, and it still retains many of the original features. Long colonial verandas stretch along the front of the house. Long-armed chairs provide a perfect spot from which to contemplate the awesome view of Mount Kilimanjaro.
The Bar is next to the Reception. The fireplace living room, furnished with the stone bench and leather cushions, is decorated with antiques commemorating Tanzania’s German colonial past. All meals are served at two dining rooms downstairs. Upstairs there is a guest suite with a private balcony, a home theater and a library with a notable movie collection.
